Rescue, Respect, Repeat

Our Mission

Dog Gone Seattle is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving homeless dogs in Washington state and beyond through rescue, foster, and adoption. We are foster-based and 100% funded through adoption fees, donations and grants. We believe every dog deserves a chance at a forever home, and we aim to make a difference in the lives of these deserving animals — one dog at a time!

Rescue

Together with our partners, we rescue dogs at risk of euthanasia in high kill shelters in  the western United States. Many of our dogs come from California and Texas, where very adoptable dogs are given just days in overcrowded municipal facilities before being euthanized. We bring these animals to safety in the Pacific Northwest and place them in loving foster homes.

Respect

Every animal we rescue receives veterinary care including vaccines (Rabies, DAPPV, Bordetella), spay/neuter surgery, heart worm testing, microchipping and grooming prior to adoption. In addition, we evaluate behavior, temperament, and compatability with other animals and work with professional trainers whenever necessary. We respect that each dog has different needs, and tailor our approach to set up every animal for success.

Repeat

Then we do it all over again!  Since 2017, Dog Gone Seattle has rescued and adopted out 5,000+ dogs – and counting!  We rely on help from our community to continue to save animals in need.  At any given time, we have at least 100 fosters caring for dogs in their homes and 400 volunteers helping with transportation, evaluation, training, walking, socializing, grooming, administration, and more. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for your support!
